The Metaverse
Metaverse
Last semester I discussed and researched many different subjects in the world of crypto. Recently however there is a new world that developers are building right now that goes hand and hand with crypto. It is the meta verse. We previously discussed about Decentraland where its a virtual world where you can buy and sell virtual real estate but it seems like this world is picking up a lot faster with more creative things you will be able to do in that world.
Right now you can access facebook from your phone and communicate with people. You can go on certain apps to watch live sporting events. You can watch movies in different platforms as well. You can even go on Spotify and listen to your favorite podcast. When we do these activities our brain can only digest so much information because we are consuming it with our eyes and ears from our phone. Imagine a world where you could put on a virtual reality headset on and you could be on the field with the football players walking around watching the game? Or if there was a UFC or boxing fight you could put on your headset and be inside of the ring watching an event. This doesn't just apply to sporting events but any type of events. Even just to socialize with friends and family where if you live across country you dont have to facetime anymore. You can put on a virtual reality headset and hang out with family in a virtual world. This is the direction we are headed towards.
This Metaverse topic is so broad and there are so many different details that need to be covered about it which is why I am choosing it as my topic this semester. This is just one more door opening for software developers. Instead of building a building or building roads we are literally building a virtual world except we are doing it through code. There is going to be a need for these type of skills to maintain virtual worlds like these and I am excited for what is to come.
Sergio,
ReplyDeleteInteresting blog, though a little informal. Please remember to cite your sources and keep in mind that you garner more authority in your writing by avoiding first person (I ...).
Sergio,
ReplyDeleteI've heard many things about the upcoming metaverse. It's interesting in many ways, like how will technology and the bandwidth of our internet evolve to accommodate something this complex? I'm interested in the psychology behind it all, if we can by virtual real estate does that mean we need a virtual job? This could make this metaverse more addicting, right? I am also wondering how it goes hand in hand with crypto currency, if you're buying virtual things because I thought virtual really meant fake.
This was very thought provoking.
Thanks for sharing.
